Flagship Workshop

This workshop is for anyone who is looking to take their career and life to the next level. Participants develop a powerful personal value proposition by reflecting on their purpose and passion, unique talents and strengths, and where they can make a contribution in the marketplace and the world.

The program encourages participants to dream big, but to develop a realistic action plan that creates consistent step-by-step progress against big picture goals. It takes a holistic approach, so that participants’ plans are built on a strong foundation of physical, emotional, mental and financial well-being and strong personal and professional relationships.

Combining group and one-on-one discussion with personal reflection, this workshop creates a safe environment for participants to think deeply and test their ideas with others, leading to a game plan that will bring out their best when it matters most.

Leadership Workshop

Building on the approach in the Flagship Workshop, the Leadership Workshop begins by helping leaders develop their own goals (“putting their own oxygen mask on first”) and adds a module that helps them draw out the best of others.

The program addresses the mindset needed to be a successful team leader and provides tools for doing it well. It focuses on the idea that great teams are made up of diverse individuals who perform best for the team when they are also advancing their personal goals. This can only happen when the leader takes an active interest in understanding each team member’s motivators and strengths and works to leverage them.

Team Building

This work can be done with small or large intact teams that are ongoing or teams that have been assembled to handle a particular project. It includes developing or reaffirming the group’s Mission, Vision and Values, establishing Strategic Priorities and Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring that the right talent is assigned to the right work, and building camaraderie and trust.

Exercises are designed to engage the entire team to ensure key points of view are heard, dialogue is candid and constructive, priorities are agreed on and accountability to each other is created.

Organizational Consulting

I work with Leadership and Human Resources teams to establish Talent programs and processes that promote an engaged workforce. Areas of emphasis include Workforce Planning, Learning and Development, Performance Management, Talent Reviews and Succession Planning.

Coaching

One-on-one coaching is available for anyone looking to “change gears” at work, in their personal life or both. Changing gears can mean finding that next gear or level of performance that seems to have been out of reach. Or it can mean making a shift as a result of new circumstances or just a desire to do something different.

By gathering input from important stakeholders and encouraging personal reflection, a coach can help clients understand their purpose, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats so that they can be at their best when it matters most.

During the coaching process, clients establish clarity on where they are, where they want to go and how to move from here to there. An action plan is then developed focusing on one or two key steps the client can take to build momentum.

Unlike many coaching programs, which create a reliance on the coach, the goal is to help the client make meaningful progress, while building their ability to be their own coach. The coach is engaged for 90 days, after which the client can repeat the quarterly cycle on their own indefinitely for a lifetime of self-improvement.

Speaking

During my corporate career, I was a frequent keynote speaker at conferences, town halls and meetings. Most recently, I served as the kick-off speaker at the Conference Board’s Career Development Seminar with a presentation on A Whole Person Approach to Career Development. Other speaking topics include:

  • Finding Purpose Driven Work. What’s the difference between having a job, a career, or a calling? If meaningful work leads to more engagement and better performance, learn how individuals and organizations can get there.
  • Building Resilience in an Uncertain World. If the robots are coming, and change is the new normal, how can employees stay centered and perform well during the swirl? By building a foundation based on values, good habits and strong relationships, anyone can thrive even when it seems like the world around them is becoming less and less stable.
  • Developing a Personal Brand. By cultivating your purpose and unique strengths, and using them to make a contribution, you can establish an identity or calling card that differentiates you in the marketplace. Learn how to create a personal value proposition that is both authentic and inspiring.
  • Making Every day Count; a Commonsense Approach to Personal Productivity. When distractions are everywhere, how can employees stay focused on what really matters? Learn why willpower is overrated, multitasking doesn’t work, and how to make true progress toward your goals at work and in life.
